  1. What is this "Just Get it Over With" Personal Conditioning program all about?

    Photo of Jane It is about helping you motivate and inspire yourself to great health in body mind and spirit by unleashing what you are passionate about and what you are willing to fight for. Instead of someone telling you one more thing to do in your busy life, I will help you tap into what means the most to you in your life so you convince yourself to get in shape to support your key values. Once you know your key values, I will help you conquer your 12-week goals through weekly video messages, weekly "Lifeline" handouts and through reading a chapter a week of my book "Just Get it Over With—A 12 week Jumpstart to Great Health in Body, Mind and Spirit." Together, let's move toward getting in the best shape of your life in body, mind and spirit!
  2. What will this program do for me?

    This program will do nothing for you. You have to do the work. Those who do the work, and there have been hundreds who have proceeded you, change. Recently I did a study on 38 people who participated in this program. After 14 weeks, they reported increases in satisfaction of:

  3. I am involved in employee wellness at my workplace. How will this program help?

    Just think what it would be like to have a team of employees waking up and living the results as seen in question #2! The bottom line is healthy employees cost less and this program will help them reduce their risk of disease by waking up what they are passionate about and then helping them reach the key indicators for healthy eating, aerobic exercise, strength training and flexibility training along with proper sleep to support their key values. An energized, confident workforce who eats right and exercises regularly and motivates and inspires others to do the same is someone I would want on my team, wouldn't you?

  4. What do I have to do?

    You don't have to do anything. The choice is yours. But where will you be 5 or 10 or 20 years from now if you keep making the same choices? I look for people who have had enough and just can't stand where they are at anymore. Is that you?
    If so, off we go!

  5. Do I need a physician's clearance to start?

    All forms of physical activity involve a risk of injury. By voluntary participation in this program you assume and accept any and all risks of injury. Obtaining a physician's clearance and recommendations for what you can and can not do is your responsibility.

  7. What does a typical week look like? What is expected of me?

    Again, all choices are yours. But I suggest you read a chapter a week of my book, Just Get it Over With—A 12-week Jumpstart to Great Health in Body, Mind and Spirit. I will guide you in what to read through the weekly goals for the week.

    In Preseason Week 1, I will suggest that you find out what kind of shape you are in through taking a diet analysis, a fitness analysis and a brief body, mind and spirit life satisfaction quiz.

    In Preseason Week 2, you will be asked to wake up your passions, dreams and key values and break them down to manageable 3- month goals.

    Then, once you have designed your program (with help from the videos and handouts) you start living your program in Week 1. I ask that you track what you do, your victories, your obstacles and how you will adjust to move forward at least three times per week.

    It is my hope that by the end of 12 weeks, you will have incorporated the basic guidelines for health and fitness into your life because you know that by doing do you will the energy and health to live out your key values. Plus, you will feel so good and proud of yourself that there is no stopping you!

    Each week, I suggest that you contact your buddy to review your weekly summaries and weekly "Lifeline" handouts.

    During the course of the next twelve weeks you will receive strategies for dealing with obstacles and exercises on how to drop your baggage, fill your tank and step by step turning yourself in to the best version of yourself in body, mind and spirit.

    Will this be hard? Of course! But will it be worth it? That is your call…but know that I believe in you and believe that you are worth it. You can do this!

    To help you along the way, I have established a point system for you to follow. Earn an "A"! To earn an "A" I will help you get clear on what is worth fighting for in your life. Hey Rocky, who can stop a person with a passion!

  8. What success can I expect?

    That is up to you. Click here for recent data on what others have accomplished.

    My intent is to help you motivate and inspire yourself to lifelong health. To accomplish that, my goal is to help you break free from average or worse and day in and day out choose to get at least the basics of health and fitness in because you have discovered how it supports your key values and goals. Plus, it helps reduce the risk of disease and makes you feel wonderful! The basics include:

    Regular Exercise
    Proper Sleep
    Eat Healthy
    150 min of aerobic exercise/wk
    5 Fruits and veggies/day
    2 days of strength training/wk
    Food boundaries
    3 days of stretching/wk


  9. How do I track my program?

    Some people track their program in a notebook. Some are more chart orientated. Some use lots of colors and stickers and pictures. Others track on the computer. It is all up to you. Give yourself permission to fail forward! Start a system, keep your eyes on your dreams, goals and key values and adjust as you go. No pressure! Have fun. Make a game of it.

  10. What if I can't get the videos to work or have trouble downloading the book or weekly "Lifeline" handouts?

    Scream! That is what I usually do. After that, please contact me at janiebirr@helloworld.com and we will go to Plan B.

  11. What if I need help and am having difficulty doing this as a self-study course.

    I highly encourage you to have a buddy or a group of buddies or co-workers do this program with you to encourage and support one another. Limit whining to 1 minute! Focus forward on your goals and what you can do versus what you can't.

  12. How do I do a fitness analysis? Do I need a doctor's clearance?

    I encourage you to seek the assistance of a certified fitness professional at your local health club for the fitness analysis. But the choice is yours. There are many tests on-line or you can make up your own to support your goals.

    There are risks with testing as there are risks with any exercise program. Getting a physician's clearance is your choice and responsibility. You assume the risks related to your voluntary participation in this program.

  13. What if I can't keep up?

    Well, you can quit...but then you are stuck with being out of shape and sick of it. That is no fun!

    Know this, obstacles will come and they will come hard. Changing your lifelong habits and breaking free to new ones that support your key values and goals is tough! Few make it. But some do and you can.

    I will say this often, "Learn, flush it and move on!" I will be your dream-holder and encourage you often to remember and bring to life what you are fighting for. Win, Rocky, win!

    If and when you get behind, learn to know the difference between making results or making excuses. Sometimes you will just have to plow forward and make it happen. Other times you will need to adjust this program to fit your key goals and values.

  15. What do you think the keys to this program are?

    I think there are 6 keys to success. They are:

    Having a strong desire to change. You gotta want it.

    Form a clear picture of where you are going. We must unleash your dreams and key values that have possibly got lost in the busy, busy, rush, rush of life. Call Time-Out! What do you really, really want? What are you willing to fight for? Wake this up through dream boards and dream videos and the like. It is huge! Then we will just get it over with and go for it!

    Persist. This will be hard. But is the best version of yourself worth it? I think so. Daily you will find yourself making the tough choices for your dreams or for yours. If you want to wait until you feel like exercising or feel like eating healthy or feel like treating your spouse right you are going to have a long wait with lousy results.
